Qi Ye Lian by Plum Flower is made up of the Schefflera arboricola root, a Chinese vine shrub that is bitter and sweet in taste and warm in nature. When ingested, the herb acts to promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, expel wind and open the channels and collaterals.

Schefflora is a type of climbing vine found in tropical and subtropical areas of China, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Australia. According to traditional Chinese medicine, schefflera has warm, bitter, and sweet properties and is associated with the Liver meridian. This herb promotes circulation of the blood and alleviates pain.
