Ingredients (Pin Yin): Gui zhi, Bai shao, Sheng jiang, Da zao, Zhi gan cao
Ingredients: Cinnamomum cassia twig, Paeonia lactiflora root, Zingiber officinale rhizome-fresh, Ziziphus jujuba fruit, Glycyrrhiza uralensis root-prep. Other Ingredients: Activated carbon, Botanical wax, Talcum.

TCM Functions: Dispels Wind-Cold, Releases Pathogenic Influences from the Muscle Level, Regulates Ying and Wei Fen (Nutritive and Protective Qi levels)
Standard Dosage: 8 pills, 3 x per day
Clinical Dosage: Administer half an hour before or one hour after eating. In acute cases, dosage may be increased to 8-12 pills every 2-4 hours, then reduced to a maintenance dose as the formula takes effect. May be used short-term for few days to a few weeks. Classic texts recommend that hot rice porridge be taken immediately after administration of the formula. The porridge is indicated when the surace relieving actions of this formula are needed but not necessary when the Ying-Wei regulating action is required.
Contraindications (all): Use with caution in the spring and summer, during periods of hot weather, or in warm climates. Contraindicated for conditions due to exterior cold and interior heat. Use with caution during pregnancy as Gui zhi has some blood invigorating action.
