  PQ10 SAP by Nutritional Fundamentals for Health is a hot water-extracted medicinal mushroom. Shitake, also known as Lentinula edodes, is an edible mushroom that grows predominantly in Asia. Coenzyme Q10 is produced by the human body and is necessary for the basic functioning of healthy living cells. It has two main physiological roles: energy production and antioxidant protection. CoQ10 levels decrease with age. Prescription drugs, including statins, may also lower coQ10 levels, yet they may be increased by supplementing with coQ10. PQ10 has the ability to be absorbed 2.5-4.25 times more efficiently than the standard ubiquinone form of coQ10. CoQ10 is not intended to serve as a replacement for statin drug therapy.
